Many people ask "What is a Journeyman"? In Canada we do not, as in Europe, have the official designation of "Master Painter", but that is what journeyman means in Canada. To reach this level of certification you have to apprentice for at least 4 years with a journeyman and pass an exam at the end of each year, culminating in a final, day long examination. Upon passing, certification is accepted world wide as proof the individual meets the basic standards of a highly skilled painter & finisher. I like the term "journeyman" because it hints that one cannot know everything. A journeyman painter working on the space shuttle faces a completely different set of skills & requirements than a journeyman painter working on a movie set; both work in worlds apart. All highly skilled trades people are for ever on a "journey"; always looking for new challenges and new skills. One thing is for sure, every job is different!

I have 30 years of experience in painting & finishing, with expertise in work that requires a high skill level of detail, accuracy & colour design. My advance skills have been in restoration interior & exterior residential, from begining to end, but in the last five years I have become more interested in the artful side of my trade; specialty finishes, & fine furniture finishing.

I offer solid experience, organization & planning, reliability, responsibility, maturity, attention to detail & safety.

Come on in and take a look around at some of my work!
